Well - we tried!! And it was fun to hope!!
The 50 Short-Listed Applicants are now available to view and vote for on http://www.islandreefjob.com/. Although you won't see the Johnson family there, you'll see lots of really amazing people who've been chosen to make the Tourism Boards Short-List. Over-all, there were over 34,000 applicants for the job from all around the world!! Isn't that amazing?

And we're not sad. What a fabulous opportunity it would have been...but more and more, we become increasinly aware that despite our personal feelings and fervent prayers, the Lord wants us in South Florida.
We don't know why.
And sometimes, we're not very happy about it.
But it's time to "Bloom Where You're Planted"...not just accept the inevitable, but really thrive.
We had that attitude the first year we were here, but this past year, with it's many disappointments and frustrations, has made us forget to be patient and happy. After all, we are very blessed. And we need to feel blessed for our trials, too, and be grateful that the Lord is invested in us enough to take the time to strengthen our weaknesses and refine our talents. It's a very difficult thing to do...and not my favorite.
No...definitely NOT my favorite.
But still necessary.
I hope we can rise to the occassion...
After all, South Florida is SUCH a beautiful place...it would be a shame to sit in our house and pout and miss it...

I'm proud of you for trying. Plus someone said that "You often meet your destiny on the road you take to try to avoid it." Maybe your destiny is in South Florida and you're just waiting to meet up with it! We're sure glad you're here.
